Basic Needs Assistance

Assisting our clients with day to day expenses, critical to a families stabilization and reduction of stress, is imperative so they can focus on programs that will enable their children to be successful, and ultimately the family to be successful.

Breakthrough Program
Five year grant award

S.A.F.E. is a collaborative partner with Murrieta Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) to provide the Breakthrough Grant. Funded by the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities. The Breakthrough program will provide services to young people identified as being high risk for alcohol, drugs and binge drinkers. Students will have access to alcohol prevention services, teen groups and individual support from school social workers and mental health professionals. S.A.F.E.’s partner role is to provide support and guidance to the parents of the children identified as “at-risk” and youth currently using alcohol and other drugs as well as offering additional S.A.F.E. services to the families.

Domestic Violence Services

We provide domestic violence assistance out of the Family Justice Center (FJC). At the FJC you will find S.A.F.E. staff and other specially trained community partners such as victim witness, law enforcement and other non-profits all are co-located to be able to support victims of domestic violence in a comprehensive, collaborative approach.

Emergency Assistance

When you are escaping a violent situation and may have children as well, you need emergency help with food, shelter, medication, gas and other things to get you through. S.A.F.E. provides those services to families in crisis.

Family Case Management

This is a core service of S.A.F.E. Every family presenting to S.A.F.E. for services is unique and different. They have different issues, problems and more importantly, strengths.

Family case management helps each family to identify those issues, problems and strengths. Together the family and the Family Care Coordinator design a plan with goals and objectives for each individual family member to work on. That plan is designed to assist in remediating the issues and build upon the identified strengths of each family member with the ultimate goal of building family stability.

In-Home Visitations

Providing services to families within their own home is a valuable service for a variety of reasons. Many times youth are more comfortable in their own surroundings or there may be transportation issues. S.A.F.E. can provide services where the client is. That could be at the family home, at school, a café or at office, whatever is best for the client at that time.

Parent Project

Learning to make the right decisions is a natural part of growing up. Generally speaking, the older children get, the more decisions they should be allowed to make for themselves. However, when a child chooses to engage in destructive behavior such as skipping or dropping out of school, drug or alcohol use, drinking and driving or gang involvement, the consequence may be addiction, a ruined life or even death.

The Parent Project was developed over a period of seven years of working with thousands of families with strong-willed, out-of-control adolescents and it is designed to help parents keep their children from suffering those devastating consequences.

Police Activities League

P.A.L. is a youth violence prevention and intervention program that provides educational and recreational activities for youth ages 5 to 17 with volunteer law enforcement officers.

Resources & Referrals

Community resources and partners compliment S.A.F.E. services or can be helpful when callers need services other than those we provide. We are happy to direct children, youth and families to the services we know about in the community.
