PALTemecula MurrietaAll kids face difficult challenges at school, home and on the playing field. P.A.L. is dedicated to providing programs and activities which offer all kids an opportunity to participate with positive role models in a safe environment with caring adults.

The collaboration with Murrieta and Temecula Police Departments is founded on the belief that early prevention and intervention for youth will reduce juvenile crime and violence.

Safe Alternatives for Everyone accepts sign-ups year round for the Temecula/Murrieta Police Activities League.

Programs

Boy's Council

Boy’s Council brings the youth together to discuss a range of issues that affect boys and young men while building a sense of confidence, security and belonging.

The Council will challenge the boys to take healthy and safe risks which will build trust, brotherhood and self respect.

Girl's Circle

A program for middle and high school age girls focusing on such topics as body image, friendships, conflict-resolution and diversity.

Each program runs for eight sessions and incorporates art, music and guided discussion in order to help girls develop positive peer relationships.

It's Time to Talk

In 2010 Congress began dedicating the entire month of February to Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. 1 in 3 teen girls report Teen Dating Violence. Teen dating abuse can be physical, verbal, mental, or digital, S.A.F.E.’s It’s Time to Talk Program brings our teens together to promote prevention and awareness about teen relationships.

Recreational Activities

Fishing, camping, art class, movie night, karaoke, mountain biking, kayaking, equestrian and more.

P.A.L. provides many different opportunities for young people to have fun and do things they may not have been able to do, while sharing the experience with our local law enforcement officers.

Building relationships with law enforcement helps establish trust, respect and forge bonds that will benefit the youth, officers and the community.

Youth Anger Management

Anger Management is a 4 session group class that helps teens ages 14-18 identify triggers and sources of anger while teaching de-escalation, positive coping techniques and stress management.

This class is offered 6 times per year and is court-approved.

Youth Case Management

Provides one on one sessions that are youth directed, meaning the case manager will follow the lead in discussing topics the youth chooses to talk about.

These can be problem solving sessions regarding conflict with parents or peers, or can be goal oriented such as getting help in a job search or writing a resume.

Case Managers aim to build rapport with youth and invite them to have a place to talk freely.

Youth Community Service

Learning to give back to the community is crucial in building healthy and responsible citizens.

S.A.F.E. wants to help youth as well as teach them to help. We provide young people with many community service opportunities at our office, with our various programs out in the community.

Youth Leadership

All youth can learn leadership skills and those skills will benefit them for the rest of their lives. Whether they are in front of the crowd, behind the scenes, or taking minutes, there is a place for everyone.

The P.A.L. Teen Leadership Program (TLP) provides youth with opportunities to meet community members, build confidence, make friends and work in the community to help others. Thanks to grants through The National Police Activities League our TLP program rocks. Come join us!
