Temecula/Murrieta Police Activities League
The collaboration is founded on the belief that early prevention and intervention for youth will reduce juvenile crime and violence. All kids face difficult challenges at school, home and on the playing field. P.A.L. is dedicated to providing programs and activities which offer all kids an opportunity to participate with positive role models in a safe environment with caring adults.
Safe Alternatives for Everyone is accepting sign-ups for their Temecula/Murrieta Police Activities League 2008 enrollment. The annual fee for P.A.L. is $20 which includes a P.A.L. shirt. Fees are negotiable and no one is turned away for inability to pay. Through interaction with police officers in recreational, educational and athletic activities, young people (ages 5-17) are given the opportunity to form healthy, positive attitudes towards the police, society and the laws police officers uphold.
Learning to give back to the community is crucial in building healthy citizens. S.A.F.E. wants to help youth as well as teach them to help! We provide young people with many community service opportunities at our office, with our various programs and out in the community. One project that provides an outstanding opportunity is our Building Futures Project. It is a partnership with Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley . Our young people are assisting in the building of the homes on Pujol Street and will be participating in Helping Hands Projects throughout the year.
Fishing, camping, art camp, movie night, karaoke, bike riding, kayaking, playing softball and more! The P.A.L. programs provide many different opportunities for young people to have fun, do things they may not have been able to do, and do them with our local law enforcement officers! Building relationships with law enforcement helps establish trust, respect and forge bonds that will benefit the youth, officers and the community.
Local officers are coaching and teaching girls and boys the sport of boxing. They are learning skills, getting in shape, learning discipline and respect for themselves and others. California P.A.L. and National P.A.L. have competitions that the youth are working to participate in as well.
This the opportunity for youth ages 13-17 who generally would not volunteer or think of themselves as leaders to participate. This group teaches leadership skills, builds confidence and enables youth to make new friends!
